8:00 a.m. Outage update

More than 1,000 CEC members are without power this morning due to high winds. Most of the outages are in Citizens' Altenburg/Fruitland District where 862 members are out. The areas affected in that region include members served from Neely and Shawneetown Substation.

In the Ste. Genevieve District, there are currently 236 services without power. Substation areas affected include Coffman, Zell and Rocky Ridge.

No outages have been reported in the Perryville District at this time.
Crews have been dispatched to the areas affected, but it is not known at this time when restoration will occur.

Please watch for downed power lines and assume that all wires are energized. Do not touch or drive over downed lines. Call Citizens Electric at 1-800-286-2251 and keep others away until our crews arrive.
