Scholarships

Winner of the 2008 At-large Scholarship is Laura Sitzes. Laura is a Jackson High School graduate, her parents are Gary and Ann Sitzes. Laura plans to attend the University of Missouri Columbia with a major in NursePractitioner.

Every year Citizens Electric Corporation offers a total of $3,500 in scholarships to students living within the utility’s service territory.

A $500 scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from each of the following high schools: Oak Ridge, Saxony Lutheran, Perryville, St. Vincent, Ste. Genevieve and Valle Catholic. The schools’ guidance counselors are responsible for administrating the applications and selecting the winners.

In addition, Citizens Electric offers one-$500 at-large scholarship. Students wishing to apply for the at-large scholarship must meet the following criteria:

• The student lives within the CEC service territory, does not attend one of the schools listed above.
• A parent or legal guardian must be a current CEC member.
• Have a 2.5 or better grade point average.
• Provide a copy of their high school transcript.
• Complete an application and return it to CEC.
